His willingness to perform in multiple genres and explore new ideas makes Mike a great asset in any studio and on any stage.

Mike Lacey

Mike in the zone

Mike Lacey is a dedicated drummer, percussionist, vocalist and plays various other instruments with total commitment - when he's not displaying a great sense of humor!

Duane Bryant

Vocals, Percussion

Duane Bryant and Bruce have been friends for nearly fifteen years, playing many shows together. Good times!

Martin Barkis on " rock it "

more cowbell please

In 2012 I created a new original song tribute to one of our own fallen members and made a documentary film about David Shriver.  Though we already had hired a duo of fine drummers as well as two drum techs , Martin Barkis wanted to be involved and we seriously needed a percussionist !  I have never seen anyone put more heart and soul into playing the Cowbell as Martin did!

With Martin Barkis

Great friend and brother

From left to right: Mr Bill Hallet on piano, Martin Barkis drums & vocals, myself and "Boston " Bobby Connors, Bass and vocals. This would have been around 2013 or 14. I met Barkis in the late 1990's and he and I played in the band off and on several times. A dynamic drummer and talented singer, Martin was strong, smart and always fun to play music with. He loved to sing harmony with me ( Bruce Maier ) and unfortunately he left us way too soon while peacefully riding his bicycle in 2022. He left behind several children and grand-children and a large family and many great friends.

OUTDOOR SHOWS

KIM PILZ, BRUCE & CALVIN TAYLOR

Kim Pilz was a member of the band for several years and we were lucky to have her with us. In this photo Kim, Cal and I are singing a great three-part harmony as we were rocking out to one of my own songs called " Our Day In The Sun " which is actually kind of funny because this day it was over a hundred degrees in the shade at a community outdoor kids rodeo and picnic-concert. Everyone in the audience was sitting on hay bales melting like wax candles!
Not shown in the photo are Duane Bryant, Mike Lacey and Brent Jones who actually took the pictures for us.

2015

Bruce Tuttle on Drums

Having two Bruce's in the band may present a challenge but Bruce Tuttle and I ( Bruce Maier ) have known each other since we were around 10-11 years old from singing in a community boys chorus.  Tuttle was part of the 1978-80 version of the original Bruce Maier Band as well as frequent shows and fill-ins. The Guitar pictured is my prized Oscar Schmidt , from a company originally in New York and eventually in China. OS produced a very fine " Super 400 " type of hollow-body Jazz guitar and I'm fortunate to still own one as they are long out of production.

Having fun !

This guitar is a fabulous Fender Stratocaster made  with pride in Mexico. Never ever let me down in hundreds of shows and recordings!
